Fall Fashion Preview: Shoe Trends

Those gladiator sandals that were so popular this summer will not help you make it through the winter. There are four styles that stood out as the type to watch from the runway.

1. Over the Knee Boots: These were seen everywhere. They were easily the most popular style on the runway, so it is a safe bet that these will start appearing in stores soon, if they haven’t already.

2. Booties: These alternatives to the over the knee style are much easier to fit and come in a variety of styles and shapes. These were also a favorite of designers, so don’t be scared to pick up a pair that you like!

3. Strappy Sandals: These styles may need to be used more for indoor purposes, at least if you live in a place that gets snow. However, they can be used to dress up a pair of jeans or compliment the dress you are wearing. Picture your summer shoe with a heel and you are almost sure to have this new trend.

4. Flats: Far less popular than recent years, they only appeared in a few shoes. Continuing to be an alternative to the heel, however, they won’t be going away until another alternative takes its place. This is probably the most practical fall/winter shoe, but may also prove to be the most difficult to locate. Hopefully you still have yours from last autumn/winter season!

Some more things to look for in shoes is the fabric and shape they come in. Leather is big this year, including suede. The popular shapes are rounded toe or open toe platforms. Don’t be afraid to take chances with your shoes either.
